As part of the procedure for connecting a mobile phone, we require proofs of your identification to be faxed over to us. Only certain items are acceptable and delays are inevitable if Orange or 3 are unhappy with any particular document. (Proofs are not required for Just Talk connections)

UPDATE: If you are paying for your new phone with your own personal credit/debit card and you require delivery to your home address then Orange do not require any proofs of ID to be forwarded. This is by far the easiest and quickest way to order an Orange mobile phone.

Otherwise, Orange and 3 require one proof of address and one proof of signature before your phone can be dispatched. Customers must also be over 18 years of age unless purchasing Just Talk.

Acceptable Proofs of Address

• Full UK Driving Licence (must be in current address)
• Bank/Building Society Statement (dated within last 3 months)
• Gas Bill (dated within last 3 months)
• Electric Bill (dated within last 3 months)
• BT/Cable Telephone Bill (dated within last 3 months)
• Family Allowance/Pension Book

Acceptable Proofs of Signature

• Full UK Driving Licence (must be in current address and cannot be used as both address & signature)
• Provisional UK Photocard Driving Licence
• Official Passport (must be computer printed - old handwritten ones are no longer acceptable)
• Bank/Building Society cheque guarantee card (must be copies of both front & back)
• Bank/Building Society credit card (must be copies of both front & back)
• Switch/Delta Debit Card (not Electron) (must be copies of both front & back)
• Police/Armed Forces ID Card

Unfortunately the following are NOT acceptable:

• Water Bill
• Mobile Phone Bill
• Old style Provisional Driving Licence
• Birth Certificate
• Catalogue Statements
• Council Tax Bill
• Bank/Building Society Letters
• ID Cards
• Electron card
• Non-UK passport
• Any reminder or final notice
